Thanks so much for the excellent obstacle clinic today. I learned so much that will improve my relationship with my wonderful horse. Even my husband was totally impressed by the clinic and the wealth of information that you shared. He talked and talked about it on the way home! Can’t wait to do another clinic with you! |

Had an amazing fun day with Patriana at a spook clinic this past Saturday! She was such a good girl, although not without challenges! On the blue tarp, you can see her thinking, no way am I stepping on that! She did much better on going through the noisy smashed water bottles, look how confident she looks! Going through hanging tape and big rubber beach balls to go through, her look is, getting me outta here! On the block, I show a picture of what she was suppose to do, …demonstrated by friend Daphne and her Fresian Ani, and then how she decided she was going to handle it. First time, she jumped over it, very athletic and pretty but not what we wanted, and second time, okay, she put one foot on and swished her tail dramatically. after 9 hours, she was a typical Arab, with so much more energy to spare, with is that all you got for me?, while all the other horses were wore out…Hahahaha.
THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO
Thanks for the great clinic. I think you have got Anne hooked on getting better on the ground work. That will be so important for her and her horse Mona. Mona needs a good leader. I hope they attend more of your clinics. My biggest hope is that Laniece seeks your help with that wonderful horse of hers. He needs a different way. I know that horse well and he could be so great once he gets released of all his tension. It is a journey. I remember you telling me at a clinic when I brought my little Dixie that my energy was too much for her. I had never thought about that. I have been trying to tone myself down. Get softer with everything. For Melody this is key. She does not respond to force she wants to please if I ask. I always learn something big at your clinics. I also hope Tanya continues on with you. She seems very impressed with the bridle horse thing. She can get stuck in her head. She rides well and just needs a direction to take her mare.
THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO.

A Good Start
Dear Susan,
Thank you for the wonderful start you have given my boy Skippy.  It was such a  good decision to send him to you.  I really appreciate your insight. You have helped me to become a better rider, which will only prove to make Skippy a better horse.  I look forward to the next year of clinics with you as Skippy and I continue to improve our skills.
Sincerely Kathy,
A good solid horse is priceless…
Thanks Susan.  It does my heart good to hear your kind words about that guy.  At my age he will probably be my last horse.  A good minded solid horse is a beautiful friend and worth a lot.  I love their kindness in taking take you where you want to go and back safely during that continuing conversation between horse and person.  I appreciate your keeping me in mind when you found him.  I’ve been around a number of horse trainers.  You are the first one I have come to trust.  You bring a horse along in the best of ways.  You also have the most wonderful ability in  explaining the way to ride a horse that I have heard.  I look forward to seeing you and welcoming him to my home.

Learning more can be so much FUN!
OMG…wanted to thank you for the lesson. I just practiced with Vinnie and am amazed at what WE have learned. I am sure if we practice once a day I will not worry about him loping up a hill. He seems to like the practice and bends with no problem…even at a trot. I watch my knees and toes and make sure they are doing what you told me.Â
Thanks again and can’t wait for the next lesson!!!!

Off to a good Start!
In the summer of 2013, our family adopted a yearling, wild mustang from the BLM. As relatively new horse owners and first-time wild horse adopters, we knew we needed to assemble a great team of trainers and horse experts to support us and this young mustang on his path to becoming a gentle and useful family horse. We had seen far too many well-intentioned but unprepared and inexperienced wild mustang adopters who ended up with a semi-wild adult mustang on their hands they could never safely ride and barely handle because they lacked the experience and support system to gentle and successfully train their wild horse. Susan Wirgler has been a key part of our team.
When our mustang turned 2 ½, we sent him to Susan’s ranch for saddle starting and training. Under Susan’s guidance and direction, our mustang has turned into a fine saddle horse – safe, reliable, friendly, hard-working and a pleasure to ride and be around. Susan not only trained our horse, but involved us in every facet of the training so that we had the skills, knowledge and experience to support our horse once we got him home. Our young mustang, now 3 years old, has become a much-loved and valued part of our family. We are looking forward to years – hopefully decades – of enjoyable trail rides and adventures with our horse, none of which would have been possible without Susan’s training and expertise. I can’t recommend Susan highly enough.
