Off to a good Start!
In the summer of 2013, our family adopted a yearling, wild mustang from the BLM. As relatively new horse owners and first-time wild horse adopters, we knew we needed to assemble a great team of trainers and horse experts to support us and this young mustang on his path to becoming a gentle and useful family horse. We had seen far too many well-intentioned but unprepared and inexperienced wild mustang adopters who ended up with a semi-wild adult mustang on their hands they could never safely ride and barely handle because they lacked the experience and support system to gentle and successfully train their wild horse. Susan Wirgler has been a key part of our team.
When our mustang turned 2 ½, we sent him to Susan’s ranch for saddle starting and training. Under Susan’s guidance and direction, our mustang has turned into a fine saddle horse – safe, reliable, friendly, hard-working and a pleasure to ride and be around. Susan not only trained our horse, but involved us in every facet of the training so that we had the skills, knowledge and experience to support our horse once we got him home. Our young mustang, now 3 years old, has become a much-loved and valued part of our family. We are looking forward to years – hopefully decades – of enjoyable trail rides and adventures with our horse, none of which would have been possible without Susan’s training and expertise. I can’t recommend Susan highly enough.
